About Montenegro's Participation

Montenegro features a picturesque Adriatic coastline stretching approximately 293 km, renowned for its dramatic mountains, historic coastal towns, sandy beaches, and the spectacular Bay of Kotor. Despite its relatively short coastline, the country possesses exceptional natural and cultural assets that make it one of the Mediterranean's emerging coastal tourism destinations.

Coastal tourism is a major contributor to Montenegro's economy, with destinations such as Budva, Kotor, Herceg Novi, Tivat, and Ulcinj attracting visitors from across Europe and beyond. Montenegro actively participates in regional initiatives promoting sustainable coastal development, marine ecosystem protection, integrated coastal zone management, and the blue economy, while balancing tourism growth with environmental conservation.

Tourism represents one of Montenegro's most important economic sectors, with the majority of international visitors concentrated along the Adriatic coast during the summer season. The country is home to several protected coastal and marine areas and continues to invest in sustainable tourism infrastructure. Key coastal regions include the Bay of Kotor, the Budva Riviera, the Tivat coast, the Herceg Novi Riviera, and the beaches of Ulcinj.
